The Art of Superstition

Illustrators Ireland present a wonderful new group exhibition entitled 'The Art of Superstition'. The show will exam the world of irrational beliefs and will feature works from 40 Irish Illustrators.

Here's my contribution based around the native American belief that photographs could steal a part of their soul.

The show runs from Oct 11- Nov 1.

Kovet iPhone cases

I can finally talk about this! I was approached a few months back, by Sligo based company Kovet, to be part of an Illustrator series of iPhone covers. They are produced, printed and designed right here in Ireland. There's a diverse range of styles represented by some very talented Illustrators and I was very glad to be included in the line-up. Drawing Dreams Foundation

I was recently contacted by the Drawing Dreams Foundation, a non profit organization that provides art supplies to children's hospitals, who are putting together a zoo themed coloring book that will be donated and distributed to sick kiddies. They wanted the book to feature amusing genetically-altered animals. Below each illustration will be a blank space where the child can give the creature a name. Here are my contributions, a Bunkey and a Peliroo!

The Illustrated Beatles

Illustrators Ireland and The Grand Social present an exhibition of artwork inspired by The Beatles on October 23rd 2012.

40 Irish Illustrators were each given a different Beatles song and were asked to create a piece based on it. Here's the promotional poster for the event and my little contribution for 'Yesterday'.

Finally got round to seeing prometheus. Not 100% about the film overall but thought Michael Fassbender was brilliant as the android David. The scene at the end, where Elizabeth places his live decapitated head into a carrybag and zips it up, stuck out in my mind for whatever reason.

Captain Quint

Went to see the Jaws re-issue in the cinema the other night. Forgotten just how great a movie it is. Here's a little homage to the bad-ass captain Quint.
